Insects play a vital role in agriculture and for our well-being. They are essential pollinators for crops, aiding in the production of several important products which constitute our consumption habits. But insects can also pose challenges as pests that damage crops.
Tata Institute for Genetics and Society (TIGS) is excited to join hands with the ICAR-National Bureau of Agricultural Insect Resources (NBAIR) to harness the power of genetics & molecular biology to develop sustainable and eco friendly methods for controlling insect pests in agriculture.
The agreement was signed by Dr. Rakesh Mishra, Director, TIGS and Dr. S N Sushil, Director, ICAR – NBAIR with senior scientists from both the institutes.
