📝 TIGS and ICAR – IIRR ink MoU!
Climate change presents a significant threat to crop yields, and malnutrition remains a serious issue in India. To address some of these challenges, TIGS and ICAR-IIRR have partnered to create rice varieties which are climate-resilient that can thrive in changing environmental conditions, while also improving its nutritional value. The two organizations will also work together to advance rice technologies for societal benefit.
Indian Institute of Rice Research (ICAR-IIRR) is a premier institute with a mission of developing technologies to enhance rice productivity, resource and input use efficiency, and profitability of rice cultivation without adversely affecting the environment.
The Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed by Dr. Rakesh Mishra, Director of TIGS, and R. M. Sundaram, Director of ICAR-IIRR and scientists from both the institutes.
