A day well spent!
On the occasion of National Science Day and Rare Diseases Day 2023, TIGS along with The Institute for Stem Cell Science and Regenerative Medicine (DBT-InStem) organised a visit for students of St. Joseph’s college Bengaluru.
Dr. Farah Ishtiaq interacted with the students on the role of science and why it is important to do science, with examples from her work on wastewater surveillance and on urban mosquitoes.
Dr. Bhagyashree Kaduskar gave an over view on Rare Diseases and how institutes like ours is looking to address a few challenges with regard to diagnostics and treatment of a few Rare Genetic Disorders.
The students also had a tour of our campus facilities (insectary, green house and the research collections) to end the visit.
