Bangalore Life Science Cluster (BLiSC) is a unique hub of excellence in biological research in India. The creation of the Bangalore Life Science Cluster aims at developing best practices for inter-institutional collaborations in India. BLiSC comprised of National Centre for Biological Sciences (NCBS), Institute for Stem cell and Regenerative Medicine (inStem) and Centre for Cellular and Molecular Platforms (C-CAMP). On 21st March Tata Institute for Genetics and Society become the fourth institute to join the cluster. We look forward to pursuing path breaking research with state-of-the-art facilities to enable innovations and solve societal challenges using cutting edge science.
The event was accompanied by an intuitive talk by Dr. K. Thangaraj, Director, Centre for DNA Fingerprinting and Diagnostics (CDFD) on ‘Population Genomics and Public Health’. We look forward to working in coherence with the other members of BliSc and that these synergistic associations at the cluster will have a far greater impact on life sciences research than the sum of individual contributions from each institution.
