The Insectary Facility at TIGS recently concluded the three-day workshop ‘Mosquito Insights: Bridging Theory and Practice’. The workshop offered a comprehensive and structured overview of mosquito biology, integrating theoretical concepts with hands-on practical training. Through expert-led lectures, interactive discussions, and hands on sessions, participants were trained to develop a strong conceptual foundation with essential applied research skills relevant to mosquito and vector-borne disease research.
Participants from diverse academic and professional backgrounds engaged in sessions covering mosquito biology, rearing protocols, handling techniques, and core research methodologies.
Workshop Highlights
🦟 Expert-led Sessions
Participants gained in-depth insights into mosquito biology, their role in disease transmission, and contemporary research approaches in vector biology and control.
🦟 Hands-on Insectary Training
The workshop provided practical exposure to mosquito rearing protocols, along with guided training in key insectary and research techniques.
🦟 Interactive Learning & Networking
Engaging discussions and collaborative activities promoted networking and knowledge sharing among early-career researchers and professionals.
We extend our sincere thanks to all participants, distinguished speakers Dr. Ashwani Kumar and Dr. B. N. Nagpal, and other resource persons for their involvement and valuable contributions, which made this workshop a resounding success.
