TIGS, founded in 2017, is a non-profit research institute that aspires to develop solutions to challenges in human health and agriculture. TIGS is a unique initiative to support applications of cutting-edge science and technology in genetics and genomics to solve societal problems of the country. The most significant challenges that impede the achievement of health equity and nutrition security for all of India’s population require systematic evidence-based scientific advancements and technological solutions. Research programs at TIGS are focused on three broad areas: Infectious Diseases, Rare Genetic Disorders, and Crop Improvement.

TIGS is a program driven research institute with a focus on solving pressing societal challenges. We are looking for Research Associate/Research Assistant for research programs and technology platforms at TIGS. Areas of Research programs:

  • Crop improvement and pest control
  • Infectious diseases: Surveillance, Antimicrobial resistance and Vector control
  • Rare genetic disorders: Screening and therapeutics
  • Technology platform: Nucleic acid based diagnostics, mRNA therapeutics, Protein and cell therapy

Desired Qualifications:

  • M.Sc./B.Tech/B.Sc. or equivalent in any branch of science related to life sciences.
  • Ability to work as a part of team, excellent communication, organizational and problem-solving skills.

Duration:
Initially for one year (probation) and extension based on satisfactory review.

We are seeking applications from enthusiastic candidates to join as Research Assistant (SRF grade) in a collaborative project initiated with NCBS, a research institute specialising in biological research.

Roles and Responsibilities:

Research Assistant (RA-10): To support Dengue diagnostics projects. The selected candidates will use molecular biology techniques to develop Dengue diagnostics.

Essential Qualifications/Requirements

– Master’s degree in any branch of biological science with relevant research experience.
– Preference will be given to the candidates with experience in molecular biology techniques like qPCR, DNA/RNA isolation, assay development.
– Ability to work both as part of a team, and independently, coupled with excellent communication, organizational and problem-solving skills are required.

Duration: Initially for one year and extension based on review.
